Process of my "Navigator" drawing from December 2019!
Usually I'll apply my lighting along with proper shadows, but I find that this method of using only a Colour Dodge layer to apply lighting (in tandem with an overall Multiply to darken the rest of the character) is faster/more effective for a piece with a simpler lighting setup.
