I'm so happy that you enjoyed this peek! đ To say I grappled with which combination (RO(s) + bestie) to do was an understatement, lol. I'm loving each and every one of your thoughts; your read on R is spot on, especially the use of 'control' and how it contributes to a restlessness that goes against their typical composure. The departure was hard on the ROs in different ways, but for R at least, it made them feel slightly powerless like when they were a child hence why we see that distance (or resorting to formality) rear its head as early as Chapter 12. What you typed about J did tug at my heart strings. I'm pretty sure that J may be Ada's bestie, so I'm looking forward to your triggering their friendship scene that is hopefully touching. They make an effort. đ„ș No apologies, please! I'm just that much more motivated to keep pushing forward to let patrons experience these scenes in the Book Two demo. đ
