You guys should watch the movie now — the show seems to have caught up with it so there wouldn’t be spoilers. The framing premise is a bit different, but I’d say the biggest difference is that it’s way more campy despite not being explicitly gay, and it has a very 90s focus on decadence and indulgence as the “sin.” It’s very AIDS-crisis-coded.

Next they're covering The Vampire Lestat which is the events (and then some) told from Lestat's POV. The writers room is meeting now and they'll be in production soon. In essence, Lestat becomes a rockstar and we get the backstory of his life pre-vamp theater and whatnot. I'm excited for that season and can't wait for your reactions

Wanted to say thank you for the laughs (especially in the last week) and for all the videos you guys make. My roommate and I have made it part of our weekly ritual, and it felt like watching with friends. We're looking forward to see what you guys think of the movie! My favorite factoid about it is that Stan Winston does the makeup effects for the movie, which is weird thinking he went from Jurassic Park + big animatronics to IWTV.

2024-11-03 20:41:00 +0000 UTCAs there are several DJs who cover their faces I'm not sure which specifically they're implying Sam is, though the use of the word helmet made me think of Daft Punk. Considering they are from Paris it makes sense too (Sam was Irish but I'm sure he picked up a believable French accent and command of the language in the interveming 77 years 😂) They also previously implied that he is Irish playwright Samuel Beckett with them rehearsing a play where they were waiting for Guido to turn up in the same year Samuel Beckett wrote his play Waiting for Godot. Honestly I love the idea that Samuel Beckett was secretly a vampire who now is a member of Daft Punk. 😂

2024-11-03 19:56:10 +0000 UTCSeason 3 is already greenlit and in progress. There's a Season 3 teaser trailer out already, it dropped in July for San Diego Comic Con. I'd love if you watched the teaser trailer, but I understand if you don't so that you can maintain expectations. It's also already been confirmed that Season 3 will start adapting the 2nd book in the Vampire Chronicles which is "The Vampire Lestat". This season finale is so dramatic and cathartic between, Louis destroying the Paris coven, Armand De Manipulator getting exposed for his role in all this, Louis and Lestat finally reuniting healthily and allowing them to grieve their daughter together, and the reveal of Daniel's turning into a vampire. And these actors have given their all to these roles and have yet to disappoint. My favorite thing about all this is what this could mean for Louis' mental state going forward. The fact that his reunion with Lestat didn't exactly seem like they got back together, his "I'm companion enough for myself" comment, and his utter confidence when speaking to the threatening vampires of the world. Hopefully going forward Louis has been able to heal and make better choices for himself! There's so much more lore and events in the Vampire Chronicles book series that the show has only barely scratched the surface of like Akasha, people and places only mentioned, and even relationships between characters we've met, but might've never imagined happening, etc. Can't wait for future seasons and I hope you guys will be watching those as well!
