During the existence of East Germany it was the most successful Eastern Bloc nation despite the Soviet Union taking resources as War reparations. (Though that's not saying much given the whole Berlin Wall thing, and the countless stories of people risking everything to jump it.)
(this is actually taught to me by my German teacher) While America censors genitals, but not violence, in Germany and other parts of Europe, Genitalia aren't censored, but extreme violence is censored.
